Shift lights

What are you guys running for shift lights? I'm interested in getting one for my car, maybe a "nice little yellow one." Anyway, let me know what you have and what you like or don't like about it, etc. Thanks!

Re: Shift lights

I have the Raptor shiftlight in my '95 Z. It is nice and small and gives off plenty of light. The Raptor shiftlight also does not need a separate box to control it. Speed Inc. sells them for $85. Here is the link to Raptor's website.... http://www.raptorperformance.com

Re: Shift lights

That Raptor looks pretty damn good, and easy to install. Was it actually easy to install then?

Re: Shift lights

Yes, the Raptor shiftlight was very easy to install. The hardest part of the install was taking the time to take the upper dash apart getting the guage to fit in the vent. If I remember correctly there are 3 wires... one wire power, one for the PCM tach signal, and ground.

I run a Stewart Warner.$140.00/programable/peak recall/four level light intensity/mounted in on the a- pillar. The digital tach is not of much use but it can be turned off.

Re: Shift lights

I have the MSD light but if I had to get a new one I'd go with the Raptor.

Re: Shift lights

I have a Raptor. The good thing about them over a Harlan is that they're readily available.

And yes they are extremely easy to install. Just follow the harlan install on installuniversity or ls1howto. Don't remember which had it.

I've got mine mounted in the middle, left AC vent.

I got my Harlan 3 days after I ordered it, plus its cheaper than the Raptor.

I suppose I should search, but has anybody modded there M6 factory SKIP SHIFT light to work as a shift light? I'm into a sleeper look, and I love the idea of hidden goodies like that.
