My Z28 (95) Lt1 has recently been giving me problems shifting out of park. Once out of park it shifts easily through the other gears. Is this due to a faulty Shift lever solenoid? If so how easy is replacement and where might I find instructions on how to check and replace if neccessary?

I'll take a stab it this. I had an 85 Firebird w/ an auto..

Take the shift boot off and snoop around.. I believe the button is connected to a rod that releases the shifter from the park position.

EDIT: Wait. You can take the shift **** off with a flat screwdriver by popping the hose-shoe clip toward the front that holds it down, FWIW... There's a rod that goes down thru the shift LEVER that controls the lock underneath.

Again, not exactly sure. I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that prevents it from going into/out of park.
