Shift Boot plactic ring thing on 97?
I know that's not the best description, but their is a plastic ring that hold the shift boot to the console, that is broken. Any idea where I can get a new one? I don't need any big assembly, or whole shift boot, just that plastic piece. I don't see it on any diagrams that show parts for sale, like fbodymotorsports.
For 1997 Z28.
Thanks,
DH

Last time I looked for one, you had to buy the whole assembly - leather and all. Have you tried gluing it back together? Plenty of JB Weld worked well for me.

I have the boot ring out of a 1997 30th SS convertible with M6 tranny. Its in perfect shape. Contact me if interested. Originator of thread gets first dibs.

haha what a odd topic
a few weeks ago I was taking my car to the shop to get a new clutch installed and knowing that they would drop the tranny and probably crack this fragile plastic piece i decided to remove it just to be safe. Well i cracked it in 4 different places just taking it out!!
i wound up getting some 5 minute epoxy and gluing it back together while using some toothpicks for added support. looks ghetto as hell but it holds nicly once again.
