shift boot bracket?

where can I pick one up for my car? The plastic square bracket that holds the shift boot in place, busted it when I did my clutch install. I think the dealership wanted too much for it...

It seems like a that part would be a dealer only part unless you can find one at a scrap yard but that is pretty doubtful. I would just post in the part wanted sections of some of the f body sites and if you can't get one there then dealer.

Mine busted but I just superglued it back and it works fine

hope this helped

I ran into the same thing. I got some "Plastic Welder" JB-Weld sort of stuff... it works just as well. Heck, it set up wrong the other day, and in trying to break the glue, I broke the bracket instead.

When I checked on 'em, you couldn't get just the bracket; you had to get the leather part too. That's what made it so expensive.

You can make your own bracket for less that half that cost I can't justify paying that much for a small peice of plastic

best price I found was $85, using my 'connections' @ the local dealership. Otherwise, any junkyard I found wouldn't sell it separate from a console.

Fred

edit: maybe it was $35... I don't recall exactly. Either way, it was too much, and I bought glue

The 97-02 part is different item than the (more expensive) 93-96 part. See below for detailed information.
