Service Engine Soon!!?

Ok, me and Bigginz were talkin to another member who said you can fit a V6 Slp cai onto a Z28. We went to my house and tried it. It worked suprisingly easy and its looking good so we go for a ride. It was working well the car sounded better and all that but right when we get home, I pull in the driveway and BING "service engine soon." We were driving for a while though so im puzzled. Also i didnt reset the computer, could that be it?

Did you plug everything back in? Might just be a coincidence that the SES light went on after installing the air intake. You should get it scanned.

Theres probly something not plugged in all the way or theres a hole in the intake causing a leak.

Re: Service Engine Soon!!?

It sounds like the problem is with the destination.

The light comes on every time you pull into the driveway

Sooooo

Park on the street or move to a new place

Problem solved

No, seriously - mine did the same exact thing. I got a SLP CAI made for the V8 however. It turned out to be the gasket on the MAF sensor was ripped a little. There are 30 things that could be wrong.

It will take the PCM a few times to figure out that you have a larger air ratio coming into the throttle body now. Keep resetting the PCM to wipe out the codes and try again. Also, make sure that the filters are way clean or even new when you run it. The MAF may have some **** on it.

Re: Service Engine Soon!!?

You can guess and guess what it might be, or when the SES is on, take it to Autozone and have them pull the code.

Autozone pulls the codes for free. Hope you didn't buy something already.
