Sensor on the brake pedal assembly......?

I'm doing the t56 swap, and I dont know - what is the sensor which is located above the brake lights/cruise sensor, same style, in all the time(off), and then out to activate, but I don't know what it controls or if I need to reinstall it on the m6 pedals, the guide does not mention it at all, it has a small plug with 2 wires.....is it maybe the sensor for the auto shifter to allow you to shift from park once the brake pedal is depressed????

The brake switch should have the battery power going in and then a lightblue coming out to the brake lights. This switch should also be the cruise release switch. the other switch should be for the shifter lock. I am not positive about the colors since I am not looking at a scematic.
