I am considering buying a 95 camaro. The security light is on and I have no idea why. The car starts and drives fine so what could it be and what would it cost to be fixed. If you could respond quickly it would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search for VATS, you will find all the info you need about the VATS system, which wears out and makes the security light come on

 

Mine has been on every since i bought the car,and i havent had any problems.

 

Thanks for the help. Other than not having to buy $30 keys what is the downside to disabling the vats.

 

VATS is a security system to help keep someone from stealing your car.
