scan guage - anyone heard of it?

http://www.scanguage.com/

saw the ad in the back of a magazine.

it's a great price if it does what it says. i kindda like the fuel consumption options and the monitoring of codes.

seems like it would be a nice way of monitoriing the vehicle and also has some neat features for getting the best milage on the road (in light of high gas prices).

What year car do you own? I would suggest FreeScan instead. All you need is a laptop and a cable. This allows you to clear codes, check rpm's and save logs to excel worksheets. Much better for the price.

The Software is free. The cable is 95 plus shipping and if you have a laptop your there.

Check out here for more info.

His signature says he has a 99. He needs an OBD-II scanner, and that's what Scan Gauge appears to be. Last I heard there was only an OBD-I version of FreeScan, although there is supposed to be an OBD-II version eventually. ARe you saying the OBD-II version is now available?

No, the OBDII version is not available from what I have heard. I replied before I checked his signature.

Sorry.

Re: scan guage - anyone heard of it?

yeah this is for obd2

i already have a cable and software to monitor real time data through my laptop (www.obd-2.com)

but this is a bit more mobile and has some neat features that the other programs don't have. i kindda like the idea of being able to monitor my fuel economy on the highway. as well as watching sensor data without having to have a laptop as a passenger.

thanks

That's a pretty good price, even if it only pulled codes. There is another unit out there that does about the same thing, but I can't remember the name. Maybe it's carputer.

The other similar device is the carchip. Google on carchip and you'll find the info.
