Retained Accessory Power
Retained Accessory Power
A week ago when i went to start my 94 firebird v6; the battery was dead, after jumping it, and troubleshooting a bit.. i found that my radio would cut off as normal when i opened my door... however as soon as i shut the door.. it would come on again. This goes for the power windows as well.. I found my RAP and the relays seem to be clicking fine, they arnt stuck or anything. Will replacing the module fix the problem? Or is there something else causing the problem? Thanks for any info!!

where are you located?
Re: Retained Accessory Power
RAP is Controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module) Along with a ****load of other functions. When mine went the dome flashed a million times and the Security light stayed on
the cool thing is when you get the Service Replacement BCM, it will accept almost any transmitter so finding new ones aren't hard, but you will have to reprogram all of your transmitters. Also, if you get one out of another car, you WILL need to know the PASS KEY Code a New BCM leans it at first start but a used one will not, so you will need to make new keys with the Correct Resistor Pellet,, the BCM is located right behind the Right Side of the Glove box, with three Connectors, two small and one Big
