Replacment headlight motor 93-97

Well my headlight motor went out again. This will be about the 4th one since I've had the car (original owner). I've tried replacing the plastic gear with a metal one but was never successful due to the housing always popping open. The epoxy was never able to hold it together for any length of time. I tried like 4 or 5 times but it wouldn't hold.

The good news is that Cardone is now rebuilding them and it includes a lifetime warranty. So I'll never have to pay for another one again. My local Advance Auto Parts carrys them.

So if anyone has this problem here is another option.

O'Reilly's also has them. Might check pricing.

So it turns out the reman motors have a different case, one that can be taken apart and reassembled by using 3 screws. No more epoxy required!

You may want to try a quick fix before buying another motor. It takes about a half hour. I just did it on my 97WS6 and now have a working and quiet headlamp.
Go to this site and check it out:

This fix is done without the motor being disassembed and is worth the half hour it takes to see if it works for you. FYI, if you do this be sure to use some tape to hold the headlamp open after pulling the up/down lever off of the motor shaft or it falls shut.
After I did this the lamp opens and closes like new with no noise.
By the way, this was my first headlamp motor failure since I bought the car new in 1997.
Good Luck.

Well I already used up my 1 free fix. I used it a few years ago.
