replacing fuel tank need new "pads"

replacing the fuel tank on my third gen,i got new tank and straps,the problem is on the old tank theres 2 asbestos looking strips on the top of the tank,looks like theyre a pad of some sort to protect tank from vibration against the body,anyways i cant get them off in one piece and the new tank dont have any and i cant find any..anyone know where i can get these strips and or what i could use instead of them

Year One & NPD types usually have this stuff. I just went to the hardware store and got some door weather stripping. Found some that was perfect, about 1.5" wide, 1/8" thick, flat rubber strips.
