Removing gauge cluster for good any problems??

Me and my friend are making a custom gauge cluster for my 96 Z28 and we need the room to make it, we have to take the stock cluster out. Will removing that for good effect anything???

my car is full of SES lights for fan, O2, tranny, etc. So it wont literally give me an SES if my cluster is not there to see that stupid light on 24/7

I don't know the details but I believe if you disconnect the volt meter then it disables the alternator... meaning, your battery won't charge when you disconnect your gauge cluster.

Again, don't know the details on this and I'm not 100% it's accurate. Maybe somebody who knows for sure can chime in and verify
