There is a relay directly below the VATS module attached to the air bag bracket in my 1995 LT1 Z28. Does anybody know what this relay controls?

 

Could be the Bose relay.

 

Since I deleted my bose system a long time ago, would it be safe to delete this? I would assume so, but I want to make sure before I go ripping it out. Can you confirm for me that it is indeed the Bose relay? I know the Theft deterent relay and the hatch relay are on the other side of the airbag bracket.

 

Also...Just to aid in the confirmation. The wires that are connected to this relay are two thick orange wires, one black and one pink. Thanks again shoebox.

 

Sounds like it, but I could not say for certain. Someone recently posted a pic of that relay (that we thought was the Bose relay). You might search.

 

I deleted the relay without any issues. The car fired right up and ran flawlessly. Every time I have a question, you always seem to be on top of things shoebox. It's nice to have someone like you on this forum.

 

I can make a wild guess and be right at least some of the time.

 

not to hijack or anything but shoebox, would you happen to know where the theft deterent relay is???

 

It is to the right of the glove box. The hatch relay is next to it.
