Window/door ?

The lift channel on my driver side door window broke. I have the part number for the lift channel, but when I took the door apart I noticed that most of the felt strip in the door has fallen off.( not the seal that runs across the top of the door) I can post pics of the part but need a host. Does anyone have a part number for this it seems like it was originally made of felt and rubber but whats left is in bad shape. Also if anyone knows a good place to get used window glass in good condidtion please let me know.

Is it the stabilizers you are talking about? There is one near the front of the glass and one at the rear...

wish it were so easy...

Unfortunately, thats not what I'm looking for. The strip I'm talking about runs the length of the door. Its at about the same level as the stabilizers but on the opposite side of the glass. Thanks for trying.

Sorry, I thought you were working on the inside...So, you are saying, that this [B]isn't[B] part of the outer sealing strip? Does this run right against the glass? I will have a look at my car when I get home tonight, and see what I see...I will post something tomorrow if you haven't gotten to the bottom of this.

oops

Sorry post can be disregaurded now, I went out and realized that the rubber seal on the outside of the window and the felt strip are supposed to be one piece. The next time any of you have your doors apart I suggest checking the strip to make sure its intact. Having most of mine missing seems to have contributed to breaking the lift channel, as this strip puts pressure on the window opposite of the stabilizers. My lift channel broke where the guide channel connects to it. The pin and roller in the guide channel literaly tore the soft metal at the bottom of the lift channel since the window was able to wobble more. Hope this helps somone else.
