Rebuilding brake calipers?
Rebuilding brake calipers?
What all is involved in rebuilding a brake caliper on a 4th gen Fbody? I don't want to get those rebuilt ones from Auto Zone, they're crap. I can get the two seals that you need for the front ones for $5 for the set. Should I hone the piston cylinder out while I'm out it. The front calipers on these cars don't really have slide pins, correct? If they're sticking is it because the cylinder bore is jacked up?
Re: Rebuilding brake calipers?
If you have a Chilton or Clymer manual for your car, the procedure is outlined in there. I don't remember which manual I read it in ( I have both ), but it was pretty straight forward. Where are you getting your seals and rebuild kit ? Last I checked, Autozone did not have them, so I figured I would need to go to bumper to bumper or GM.
