Rear Defrost Problem
Rear Defrost Problem
This is on a 99 T/A. When I step on the brake the rear defrost light comes on until I let off the brake, also the rear defrost doesn't work but the light stays on when I press the button, ideas?
Re: Rear Defrost Problem
Yeah, I saw this same problem on a Buick Century wagon, once.
Check all the ground connections in the back of the car. Make sure the bulbs are all well grounded, as well as the defrost grid.
In that Century wgn., the taillight wiring harness and defrost grid used the same ground wire, which had broken free. So stepping on the brake caused the current to backflow through the defrost grid in search of a complete circuit path.
