Rear defogger.

I know questions about this have been asked before but everyone had the problem that it turned on for a few seconds. Mine doesn't turn on. The fuses are fine. What could be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Rear defogger.

If you can confirm you have power at the switch, I would say your switch is bad.

Would it be easy for me to replace the switch myself?

Re: Rear defogger.

Are you SURE the "fuse" is good??? It's not a fuse you know. It's actually a 30A "breaker". They become faulty, so try using a 30A FUSE, or replace it with a NEW 30A breaker, then see if it's still acting up.

That's why I said to confirm power at the switch.

You don't say what year your car is, but there is info in my ignition switch R&R showing how to remove the defogger switch on a 1995. Go to the Tech Page in my sig.

Sorry, its a 2002 z28.

When I said fuse, I was talking about the otehr 2 fuses associated with the defogger switch. I just grouped them all as one thing.

What do you mean by confirm power at the switch? I push the button and nothing, no click like it does when it works or anything like that.

Sorry I'm ignorant when it comes to this stuff. Thank you again for the help though.

I mean use a meter to make sure power is making it to the switch.

I would also check the grid itself to make sure both tabs (one at each side) are firmly attached.

Re: Rear defogger.

Since the same breaker is used for the power seat, is that working? If it is, then the breaker is probably good. You then need to start tracing power.

Good Hunting,
