re program key fob

When I got the car 2000 B4c (just recently) only came with ignition key and two trunk/door keys. So does it have key less entry? If so what are the procedures for programming. Is it the same process as the older cars like my 96?

Look for the AU0 RPO code on the door.

Open up the fob and read inside of it. Most of them say to stand near the car and hold both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for 7 seconds. Done.

I don't have a fob that came with the car. I have extra that came w/ my 99 Silverado that I was gonna program. Ebay has them but i was gonna use what I had first.

I think hatred is talking about resynchronization, not programming. Programming is the same as your 96, is your Sierra remote is the same PN/FCCID# as the 2K F-body?

i also had a question regarding that... i know mine also came with an alarm and keyless remote and the fob works perfectly but its not activating the alarm. I checked the trunk and it has the shock sensor and everything else but why is it that even in programmable mode it wont let me activate the alarm???

This isn't even close to being an engine tech question. Please post your questions in the appropriate sections.

Not all GM keyfobs are the same. Check for one for your specific car model and year on Ebay, they retail for $30 or so new, they even come with instructions.

Remove the radio fuse. Turn the ignition to "on" and "off" 3 times, leaving it at "on", that sets the car into programming mode for the keyfob, the door locks and hatch release will operate to indicate this.

Then keep pressed both lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 15 seconds. turn ignition to off and test the buttons to see if the doors and hatch operate properly, reinstall the radio fuse and you're done.
