Radio Display Problems

I've had a few querky problems with my stereo. I have the stock Bose Monsoon system, although I do beleive that a few of that speakers may be blown.

Anyways, the main problem I'm having is that when I start the car, The clock/display area is either all sorts of garbled, or just doesn't work at all. After about 20 minutes of driving, the digits finally show up correctly.

Does anybody know why its doing this? I'm thinking some sort of wiring problem, but could it just be that the radio has gone bad?

My '97 T/A has done that for atleast years (if not always). So if anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it too.

Re: Radio Display Problems

I had a very odd problem, where the LCD went dead, the radio wouldnt play music, and the numbered lights went out. The funny thing was that the running lights on the cassette were still on along with all the fade/bal/treb and the power/ tuning ****. This all suggested against it being a fuse and being a bad connection. I took it all apart and used a voltmeter and verified all connections were getting current.
Still puzzled.

I then put it all back together and the radio and LCD would work, but now the lights were still messed up and the 2&4 button came on. 1 day later I started up the car, no radio, all lights dead.
Still puzzled.

I took ALL connections, inside and out (the very tiny wires with green connectors inside hte radio too) and bent the female ends to make 100% contact and sprayed windex/alcohol mix to clean off any corosion and reconnected them before it dried. after all connections were redone, I gave it time to dry and reconnected the battery.

It's been 2 weeks and the radio/LCD hasnt stopped working, although all number button lights are out, and all others are on. Is this a fix? Not really, but at least its what I did to get it working again.
