Radiator woes- NEED HELP PLEASE!

Hey all,

I am in the garage swapping in a new radiator. The original one spring a leak. I picked up a new modine from advanced auto and it matches up to a T for one thing. There is a provision at the bottom corner on the drivers side where a small hose (approx. 3/4") goes. The new radiator does not have this provision. What is the purpose to this small hose goin into the radiator? I had to order the radiator so it would take me a few days to get another one and I have to work in the am!!!!

Is there any way to bypass it by using a T?

Its #16 in the diagram

Thanks in advance!
Mike

If you don't have an oil cooler, just cap off where that hose goes on the water pump. You don't have to have it.

ok, thanks! Mine is a 97 T/A and the hose went to the bottom of the radiator. I do not have an oil cooler. I just bypassed it for now with a T fitting but I need to find something to cap it with that won't leak and can take the heat. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Mike

My local auto parts store sells a black rubber cap that's 3/4" ID, hose clamp it in place.

Pull out the pipe, tap the hole and install a pipe plug.
