SS hood stolen...how?

SS hood stolen...how?

This sucks... I woke up and my freakin hood was gone! Now, i have taken off a few hoods before but, how did they get it off without getting inside the car to flip it? Pretty talented little bastardz.

Ouch.... sorry to hear of your loss. =(

I wouldn't be surprised if they did break into the car to open the hood latch. I once locked my car keys in the car and the tow truck driver popped open my door in about 30 seconds. =(

sorry to hear that, thats strange someone would go thru that trouble for a hood. had to be at least 5-10 to pull it off.

It sounds like you got shafted by some pros. They probably "broke" inside and popped the hood so they could remove it undamaged. It sounds like it was a planned operation.

Camaros are easy to break into. Pull back the top of the glass, use something long to hit the power lock switch, and your in.

A real shame. Real SS hoods are rare and expensive.

On my '95 Z28, when I locked the keys in it once, the power locks disabled themselves after a few minutes. We were pushing the power lock switch, and it wasn't activating the locks.

I had that problem as well... until now I just thought it was the broom handle slipping off the button, but it seems that no matter how hard I would have pushed it, it wouldn't have unlocked. Luckily the car had t-tops, and I managed to bend the window out far enough to slip my hand in and take the t-top off.

That was actually the only time I ever got locked out of a Camaro- I was in the military, getting out of my car, and "colors" started, so I dropped what I was doing and saluted. When I looked back down, the door was shut and the keys were on the seat. And of course I had already locked it.

But anyway, most cars aren't that hard to break into at all. On cars with a door lock with a flat top that sticks up, all you usually need is a packing strap. Camaros are a little harder but nothing undoable.
