Radiator Question
Radiator Question
I had my radiator replace in mid-may. All was fine until this weekend when I noticed my engine was having trouble keeping cool. I hear how "special" reverse flow cooling is supposed to be, but those that mean there's a special way of bleeding the system? Also I hear that there are 3 bleed screws, I can only find one, were are the others? Also, is there a specific order in which I should bleed them??
Tnx

A suggestion.... add a "signature" with at least the year of your car so that people can try to give you the correct info.... not all LT1's are the same (I assume you have an LT1, since you make reference to "reverse" cooling).
Shoebox has photos and instructions for cooling system maintenance on his website. There are two brass bleeder screws.

While on topic is cooling fan motor failures pretty common? I am having issues with my 96.
The condesnor and radiator are both clogged full of dirt externally, its like someone took in threw a few sandstorms and beaches, the coolant is also dead (I tested it). The A/C fan works but the cooling fan does not. Even when the temp touches the red (did not allow that to happen on purpose but the engine was shut down) it was not on. I put in a 160* t-stat and that helped slow it down but once I get to fan temp the temp starts to climb QUICK. The haynes manual says to test the fan with battery power and jumpers and if it runs then its the relays.
In the morning I am going to try and pull the radiator, flush out the entire system, and take a shop vac to it externally.
Anything else I should mess with?
