Alright, maybe I've just grown up a bit, or maybe I've realized my hearing isn't going to hold up, but I think I need a quieter exhaust. With long tubes, ORY and Loudmouth, there comes a point where it just gets ridiculous, Does anybody have a suggestion for a quieter but free flowing exhaust? I'm camming it over spring break, and I know after that it would just be out of control.

I love my hooker.

 

MAC is quiet and flows well.

 

Corsa is quiet from the clips I've heard, so is B&B...but be prepared to pay 600+ for a new one.

 

Another vote for SLP totl. Ive read that it is one of the best flowing exhausts out there. But it still keeps a nice mild note that's not too loud at wot. If you like the two pipes on the drivers side I reccomend it. Ive heard Hooker and it would be my second choice.

free flowing usually means louder.

i would just go the route of the electric cutout. that way you can run the exhaust you like and can stand...and if someone challenges you at a light...flip the switch and BAM...loud and free flowing

 

I don't know if i agree with that. When i went from stock manifolds to headers that didn't make my car any louder i almost think my car got quieter and i know my headers flow better than the manifolds. I think there is a lot more to it than free flowing = loud. The quietest aftermarket exhaust i've ever heard is the SLP dual/dual. My buddy started off with the loudmouth then added headers and off road pipe. That thing sounded like crap and was really loud. He traded it for a dual/dual. Now that thing was quiet. It was almost as quiet as stock. I couldn't even hear him pull up to my house. He ditched that for the 2OTL which was louder but not as bad *** the loud mouth. My Borla is pretty loud completely capped off. I almost wish i had his dual/dual then i would add an ecutout.

 

SLP 2otl , if u dont like the way it look i u can try to make a cent mount or another pipe that will lead to the other side

 

I love the Corsa, still has that nice muscle sound, but is liveable with on a daily driver. It will still turn all the heads that I want when it needs too.

 

SLP Dual/Dual all the way. I have it on my car with LT's and 3" Y pipe and it is conservative at idle and cruise (no drone) but sounds really good when you open it up.

 

Catalytic converters.

 

Hooker or SLP Dual/Dual are by far the quietest around and supposedly flow well. I had a Hooker on my old '94 LT1 and it was barely louder than stock for around town driving.

 

dynomax is pretty quiet

 

Catbacks can be free-flowing and quiet also. Louder than stock? Sure, but compared to a Loudmouth+ Longtubes+ ORY, there's not much louder than that. Magnaflow is another fairly quiet one.

the slp dual dual is ok but just way too quiet

if i had to pick from the three id pick magnaflow , somewhat inexpensive, stainless steal , quiet when needed, and agressive when wanted, also has a really nice sound

hookers ok , but not staineless,

slp 2OTL sounds really gpood to , i had it , but i didnt like the one side exit
