Questions from a New owner

I just got my 2nd F-body, first was a ragged out 79 that blew up in the first week.

Anyway, I got a 97 z28 M6 convertible 30th anniversary that is triple black.

The car is a one owner and I don't think he ever rodded it, as it is totally stock including the muffler.

Is this rare and should I not mess with it, or is it ok to change the exhaust and do a CAI?

I need to do a lot of maintainance because it has been parked for the last 2 years.

the only real problems are leaking rear end and the drivers window does not move with the motor, you have to lift it by hand. I think the regulator has jumped off teh track.

I love it so far, much more fun than my last Mustang

Thanks for any advice, opinions, comments.

On edit: I think that all 97's have the 30th on the seats, and it is NOT a real anniversary car, because of the color and not showing on the window sticker, correct???

power window motors are notorious for failing on these things... check the R&R instructions on shoebox's site... www.shbox.com (I think)...

And assuming the rear is just "leaking" due to poor sealing etc, that is an easy fix.

not sure about how "rare" etc your ride is..

I believe the Anniversary edition is white with orange stripes and is an SS.
I think all the other 97s do have the 30th on the seats.

So, it's cool to mod.
I really didn't want a rare car that I would be afraid to fool with.
thanks
