Question on Valve springs...>>???
Question on Valve springs...>>???
So money is always the issue when upgrading engine, at least in my case.
I purchase a cam from jegs grind 305 220/230 .511/.511 114 lsa I think!?!
my question is would my stock springs hold up for a few weeks while I come up for the cash to buy the valve springs.
Also is there anything else that is a "Must" when upgrading cams?? like rockers or are those optional ??
Thanks.

Re: Question on Valve springs...>>???
stock springs are good to .525" lift
so you should be fine for a while.
i would upgrade the rockers later, there is alot to be gained on the LT1 by going with full roller and higher ratio...like 1.6.
but that can easily be done later when moeny permits

Re: Question on Valve springs...>>???
Awesome dude, I'll keep that in mind... although my next move will be the computer tuning, so I was advised... because of the cam. which brings me to my next question. should I tune the car now or wait til I do all the valve upgrade?? I will also be getting headers soon. so is it recommendable to just wait on the tune til after the headers, or will it not make a difference ??
Re: Question on Valve springs...>>???
i think it depends on how long you have to wait to put the headers on. waiting till after those for the tune is probbaly more logical than waiting till the rocker upgrade. rockers shouldn't affect a/f much.
but most places offer discounted "re-tunes" after the initial tune. i think madwolf does them for like $50
but with that small cam, you could easily just wait till after everything is done, or at least till after headers.
