A question from the UK about the air con
I have a 1999 Z28 and we are just starting to get cold weather, the problem is that the air con seems to be set to not work below 4 degrees C, so for the next few months the cars windows will get covered in condensation for the first 5 minutes, is this the same for everyone else and is there something I can do to solve the problem?

It should work, the air conditioning should run when the controls are on defrost..........

It really is a stupid thing to have done and if it is possible to stop it I will.

Re: A question from the UK about the air con
lemme try, ok as the air outside gets colder, the freon actually loses pressure.
as the air outside warms up the system builds up pressure.
now, if they put more freon in the system whem it was cold outside the compressor would run but when it warmed up the pressure would be so great that it would destroy the a/c system.
there is pressure sensors in the system that always monitor the pressures and are always communicating with the pcm witch controls the a/c compressor.
if they just made the compressor run anyway with low pressure it would ruin the compressor and probably the reciever dryer and orfice tubes.
so basically your just gonna have to deal with it, hope this helps.
