Service schedule?

I have a question, if i remember correctly, there are service requirements for cars that require them to be serviced at 30, 60, and 90 thousand miles... someone correct me on that, and also, do you know EXACTLY what is done during those services? im assuming at 30k they re torque the head bolts, but what else is involved in all 3 services? and how dire are the 2 services after the 30k?

Re: Service schedule?

If you read the service requirements, and go to a Dealer for this they also service your wallet. By this I mean they empty it. Its a guideline, and most of it visual or its normal maintenance. Also, I got a laugh out of retorque the Head bolts at 30K. Sure.

Re: Service schedule?

At 30/36K/3 years, I would change the tranny oil and filter, check the quality of spark plugs and wires and replace them if necessary. If you use a paper air filter, that would be a good time to change it too, as well as changing the PCV valve. Changing your rear end lube would be wise at this point too (don't forget posi additive if you need it). I'm not sure how the Opti works, but this is also a time where people would change their distributor rotors and caps.

If you take it to a dealer or mechanic, they'll also probably check out various systems (brakes/suspension/cooling) as well.

EDIT: Don't forget the fuel filter as well.

Re: Service schedule?

All recommended service intervals are in the owner's manual.
