Question for A/C delete guys
Question for A/C delete guys
My A/C system is broken and I'm not really wanting to fix it, so naturally I'm considering buying an A/C delete pulley. But my question is how well does your defroster work without the A/C? Thanks.

ok I ask again what does defrosting a WINDOW have to do with a/c... if it was important (since it is required byt law to defrost a window before moving a car) if the A/C was in any way needed to do it.. they would have never made A/C delete cars. And sorry.. but i have had A/C cars.. and ones without A/C and there is no difference in defrosting or time to defrost.

I think where the AC does help isn't when defrosting the windshield, but defogging it. As stated I never had trouble during the winter. However give me a cold, rainy, humid day and a warm interior and my windows fog slightly since the AC was pulled.
I also recall hearing the AC runs not only for dryer air, but to keep the compressor from siezing from sitting 6 months without running every year.

Right on.
I remember when my AC was out in the Ranger, while I could defrost a window during the winter (never necessary in So Tex), when it rained and got all muggy, I was literally blinded while driving with the moisture building up on the windshield as I would breathe. Wiping the windshield would not help one iota.Somehow, waiting ~1.5 years to fix what was just a fried $90 clutch coil didn't ruin my AC. Miracles, baby, miracles...
