Question with A4 Shift Knob

I took the clip out of the from of my shift knob (a4 tranny) and i cannot get the knob off. Any special tool or am I not just trying hard enough?:o

Once the clip comes out, the **** should just pull up. Nope, you're not missing anything.

Nothing special... but watch out if its the first time the **** has been taken off it will tend to be stuck then pop up as you are pulling on it and hit you in the chin... I found out the hard way

Try giving a little twist first, also if you haven't already - turn the key on so you can pull the shifter back and get a better grip.
