pulling heads pass side

so I'm pulling heads on a 3.8 fbird on the pass side and there are 2 pipes/hoses in the way I want to take out of the way ( just behind the altenator, look like AC hoses that go forward into what looks like a canister, ?? compessor ?? , and back into a black box which looks like it goes into the interior of the car).. they are held together by two nuts, think one is 15/16" & one 1"

anybody know what these are? and if I remove them what am I going to need to refill, freon??

Also, if it is Freon it safe for me to do this at home garage just by releasing the compresed air or is there a professional way that it needs to be done

thank you in advance

yeah, those are AC lines, legally, you need it evacuated by a certified and properly equipted individual, however, if it should leak out.............

you will need it vacuumed down and recharged afterwards

if it SHOULD leak out(from a loose fitting say..), be very carefull, you can get frostbite from it

also...if you should find a LOOSE fitting and take it apart.....tape up the ends to keep out dirt and moisture.

also be sure to have a good vac. pulled on it....that get the moisture out of the system
