Problem with my power window
Problem with my power window
Im not exactly shure what the problem is but my d4river side power window is not functioning properly. If you push the button so the window will go down it wont do anything. But if you tap the door as you hold the button down it will go gown a little each time. I dont know if there is a problem with the motor of if it is slightly off track. Please help me!
Sounds like when my window motor went south.Sometimes when I would wait a while,it would work, then not.Go to Shoeboxe's sight for motor replacement.I got a rebuilt window motor from Napa 5 years ago for $55.00.Took me 8 hours, but brought a big smile to my face.Hope this helps.
Same problem. I replace auto glass for a living and hate working on the Camaro's. I replaced the passenger side a year ago and the coiled spring that is on the regulator came off and i could not get it back on. The window works but not as well as before. Now the drivers side is going out. I think the cheap motor on Ebay might be part of the problem. For $40 its hard to pass on.
They are 50 at Advance Auto with lifetime replacement, so spending 10 or 15 dollars more for a lifetime warranty isn't too bad. It took me maybe 2 hours the first time I changed them out. That's without the glass though.
I found one on ebay with a lifetime warrenty that works pretty dang good for 25 after shipping. I also had the problem with the coil spring. It's a two person job to preload that spring and get the thing bolted up. I didn't use those wierd rivets that came with my motor to mount up the regulator but instead little half inch bolts. Came in handy using bolts cause it took me a few tries to pre-load that spring taking the reglator off then on then off, till i got it right.

the trick i was told was to only unbolt the motor, not the regulator... and also my window was down which made it easier since i didnt have to hold it (and since my motor was 100% dead i didnt have much choice in having it up or down)
i think i paid $58.xx at autozone for one wth a lifetime warrenty... i think on something like that i'd rather pay a bit more and get a lifetime warrenty from someone like autozone, than get a lifetime warrenty from some unknown company on ebay.

Shoebox should have an install guide. I used rivets first to put the motor back in, but they ended up breaking, so I used screws with some lock washers. Just buy a motor from Autozone and be done with it. I wouldn't mess around on ebay for something you can get locally.
