Power Windows

Need help with power windows on a 95 Z28 convertible. Driver window will go down when you first start car and then will not move again. If you turn car off and start again, it will go up but then not back down again. Heard it could be the acutator or the switch. Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it??????? Can't take out on beautiful day if window will not go up and down.

Sounds like your window motor is shot.

Re: Power Windows

If you need to replace the window motor (sounds like it), you might want to take a look at this procedure.

Re: Power Windows

I did this recently. Here is a tip, use some zip ties and make a loop ( or two linked loops if needed ) and run it through one of the holes on the motor. Now you have a handle to prevent it from falling down or too far out of place while trying to manuever it out or in. I used this method to get the old one out and new one in and I am sure it saved me some time and aggravation.

Good luck it is not that hard of a job !

OH yeah and I got my motor at Autozone for $40 and it has a lifetime warranty
