Question Power window problems...

My drivers side window makes a "clunk" sound when it goes down and also makes the door pannel bulge out when its all the way down. When the window is down it also rattles over bumps. The window works fine but these noises are annoying and something isnt working right. I allready took the pannel off once and found that the 4 screws were loose that hold the big wheel, i thought i fixed the problem but i guess that wasnt it

On a side note when i had the pannel off i found that theres lights in the doors that shine on the window switches, had to replace the bulbs but at least that works now

It may be off track. The power window motor is also very common to go out.

It still goes up and down, so it could still work if its off track? How hard is it to put it on track? any guides for this problem?

It will still go up and down if it's off track, but it may not seal all the way. I heard getting these windows back on track is a huge PITA. Here is a writeup on the power window motor

Off track really means you have a regulator issue (the jacknife tracks w/coil). If its not working properly, it will put stess on the window motor and reduce its life. If you buy all the parts you need, you can have a body shop spend an hour to install it with rivots, etc. (a body shop quoted me one hour) Not a bad deal.

When you take off the door panel and you raise and lower the window watch the rivots and see if they move. You did say it is bulging so that of course is another indication.

Major PITA job here. Its tough with two people. I've had power window problems with almost every vehicle I've ever owned.
I've swapped the motor and regulator on two different vehicles and would rather not have to deal with it again. Your best off having the shop do this one because of how the spring is packed
