Power Steering Question

Ok here it is, on my camaro in my sig. I think the power steering is gone. Its slowly leaking fluid and no matter how much fluid i put in all it does is whine and grind. People are going to think i have a blower on my car with the whine this thing is making.

My question is are all power steering pumps interchange able for 4th gens? I mean my car is an LS1 SS so would a power steering pump from a v6 car work? I would like to just toss on a used one from a junked car because i got a quote of 300 bills to have a new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Power Steering Question

AC DELCO lists different part numbers for these two pumps so i would say that they are not interchangeable, probably a different rack with different pressure requirements, i have a question, buddy's car has problem with steering, it doesnt work all the time, i drove it and the steering didnt work at all for me at least not with power. I have heard of a servo sometimes sticking, but i dont know much about these systems. any ideas?
