Something is leaking

Have a leak under my car, looks to be pretty small, sat for 6 months and there isnt a lot of liquid. Try for a pic later.

Its on teh right side, just behind the tire and in a bit, almost lines up to where the dash meets the windshield.

Its been on jack stands in the back so its got a different angle from that, dunno if that could be a factor. Car has pretty much always leaked coolant but usually on teh top of the engine.

I have no AC stuff so I know it wasnt from that. Need to find my camera.

Re: Something is leaking

Well NOTHING should be leaking, so if SOMETHING is leaking, I would definitely fix SOMETHING!!!!
Do you still have a heater core and heater hoses?? Could also be that the drain for the air vent intake on that side is partially blocked.

Re: Something is leaking

no heater core, dont know about hoses, without the core I would think I dont, removed the fan that blows air through the vents and removed the HVAC ducts on the right side.

I like the Fix something idea, I'll fix the loose stereo and hope the leak stops

Re: Something is leaking

Sorry, can't think of anything else that would have water in that area.

Confirm, is it leaking inside the car or underneath the car?

Re: Something is leaking

Any water that gets into the HVAC system air intake in front of the windshield runs to either side and down the gap between the fender and body. The drains are just a couple of gaps between the panels in the area your showing in the picture. If these get glogged water can collect in this area. Also sometimes water can get into the area behind the inner fender well. Doesn't sound like anything to worry about!

Re: Something is leaking

There is a metal coolant steam pipe which runs across the back of the motor, from one side to the other. It is above the bellhousing, under the intake.

This could the cause of your leak?

Thomas.
