Could be from previous overfill at the pump, does the rack have fluid all over it and dripping,?When my rack went,it was a lot,and that is where the leak really was.Hope this helps.my02

From what you are describing, sounds like it is the pump. I had to change my ps pump because it was making awful noise, and my pressure line was leaking. You'll probably be surprised at how quite and smooth your steering will be after the install, I was.

Its pretty straight forward:
Remove the two mounting bolts, you have to fish a the extension and wrench through the holes in the pulley. Unclasp the reservoir hose, unscrew the pressure line. Its helpful to unscrew the pressure line at the rack, to free up some wiggle room to unscrew it at the pump, careful not to round it off. Once its off, you just use a ps pump gear puller, you can borrow one from AZ. Pull off the pulley and seat it on the new pump using the installation tool that comes in the same kit as the puller. Mount the new pump, hook back up the pressure line and the reservoir hose, top it off and you are good to go.
Good luck.

Exactly what I thougth would happen. Check the resevoir a couple of times after running it, to make sure the level didn't go down due to air escaping, or a leak of course.

EDIT: Sorry about not responding, I've been getting alot of spam im's. I'll open up im's from now on to verify that they are indeed spam. I'm happy to help.
