Unhappy Power seat help!!!

Ok, so in probably one of the dumbest moves of all time, I caught my car on fire. Sitting at a stop light, flicked a cigarette out the window, high winds, blew back in but didn't notice it. Anyways, I got about a mile down the street, ordered at Popeye's drivethru, then pulled away really quick because the car was filling with smoke, and I hadn't lit another cigarette. Stopped in the plaza parking lot, found out it was coming from between my seat and the console, and tried to blow it out (instinct reaction, I like to think I'm more intelligent than that...but now I'm wondering... ). So I jump out of the car, try to dig under the seat to figure out what's burning, and can't reach. So I moved the power seat all the way forwards to go at it from the back, and as soon as I do it stops smoking. (Side note, during this whole process of digging under the seat, some guy comes up and asks to bum a cigarette ...I almost whipped the pack at him ) I found the burned butt (not mine, the Camel), and try to go home... Problem Now the seat won't move back. It will try to move forward, but nothing when I push the switch back. So I had to drive home with my knees planted firmly in my chest (do you know how uncool it looks to be driving a bright orange Z with black racing stripes and a scoop down the road like a 90 year old grandma??? ). Checked underneath with a flashlight when I got home, no crispy wires, no fried tubes, nothing. So anyone have any idea where to start looking even? I just can't fathom what would make only the backward motion stop working. Please help anyone, but if nothing else, at least I got a chance to tell the story, and it was a lot funnier typing than when I was actually digging my hand under the seat in search of flames.

I actually thought about trying to dump something down the side to put it out, but it was so damn cold outside all the empty cups in my car were frozen solid. Figures doesn't it?

That's rough! I can't imagine what it could be either. You make it sound like an electrical fault, but all the electrical stuff is towards the door. It almost has to be something mechanical or you managed to break the switch somehow.

Here's a picture of what's under the seat... I think this was a 97.
Power Track

I hope you can still get to the front nuts on the floor. And I hope you got a warm spot to work... the high today for you must be the same as me... 32F. We got 6 inches of snow last night.
