ok in my car the power door locks do not work and havent worked since i got it...and i havent been able to figure out the problem...wen i push the lock buttons they only make a "ding-ding-ding" noise and do not lock or unlock the car doors...i checked the fuses and they are fine...any ideas on what the problem might be??

 

Did you take the door panel off and check the wires/connections on the other side?

 

no because its seems to coincidental that both driver and passenger sides do exactly the same thing....unless the both run off of the one connection on the driver's side...im not sure...but both sides have the same exact problem..

 

Khojo when i unplug my driver side power lock switch, only the key and the actual mechanical switch work to unlock them, not even my keyless entry works.

 

interesting...bc thats exactly the same symptoms as mine right now...except for the fact that i dont have keyless entry to begin with lol...so where is this power door lock switch on the drivers side that ur talkin about??? pictures or just description wud help alot...thanks

 

Its the button you push to unlock and lock the doors, its kinda difficult to explain how to remove it but you need to push a screwdriver in the side to release the metal clip and it should pop out, be gentle tho if you play with em enough youl'l learn to pop em out with your hands and no screwdriver... I do it to my power window switch cos the motors burnt out and i dont want someone rolling it down and leaving it down.
