Poping sound please help

A friend with an 01 Z28 just did a LT header install and now has a popping sound when the car changes gears. It's right at the last of the shift to the next gear. POP then shifts into the next gear. It's an automatic car if that matters at all. Would it be a gasket problem or what ? There are no codes being thrown. Thanks guys !!

Does it sound like an exhaust popping sound? Where does it sound like it is coming from? The headers? The Tranny? The rearend?

I normally attribute bad gaskets to a loud ticking sound.

Yea it pops from the exhaust, he's running true duals with bullet mufflers also. I'm not sure if it was doing this before the LT install or not. It idles and sounds alright all except for when the car changes gears.

Hmm, the only thing I can relate this is, is blow-off valvues on my friends turboed cars. When the car shifts, it might build up some exhaust in the exhaust valveus, and spits it out when the engine and the tranny are spinning together again. A good tuning job should correct that.

Yep, that's gonna happen once you rid yourself of all that backpressure.
