Poly mount = harsh vibrations?
Haven't "heard" that. 14 years after I bought the car, I've still got the stock motor mounts under the 381 stroker, and the same ES poly tranny mount that I installed at least 11 years ago. Its been under a T56, a TH400 and now the TH400+Gear Vendors O/D, and its been vibration free and held up to 800HP/800lb-ft.
), but it makes sense that factory rubber mounts on the engine and a poly mount at the trans could introduce a lot of extra vibration. The rubber engine mounts allow the engine to move, but that motion is transmitted through the transmission and into the body of the car by the poly trans mount.
