i have heard the windshield has to be a different too, but i have a friend with an older gran prix and he had to replace his windshield and he opted for the cheaper version and his heads up display still worked.

The product description makes no reference to applying anything to the windshield for the HUD projection. They probably just hooked it up and took some pics. If so, the image looks pretty good on the example Firebird on the 6LE page. I'm definitely interested in the product but for a later time.
