A-pillar instrument pods
Can someone make any recommendations regarding the a-pillar instrument pods (or anything else for that matter)?
I need two gauges and want to know what I should get regarding the gauge cups and instrument brand. Wanting to install electric fuel pressure and wide band O2 (later).
Car = 95 Z28 with T-top.

The make either pods that fasten on to your stock pillar, or complete A-pillar replacements. I don't think AutoMeter makes full replacements though for the Camaro older than 1997. There's some minor difference with the hole for the side window defroster, I believe.
You mount 2-1/16" gauge simply by pushing them into the holes in the pods. No mounting cups or hardware.
I have a full complement of AutoMeter gauges (incl fuel, oil and nitrous pressure; oil and tranny temp) and they have proven extremely reliable.
I got an add-on pod, epoxied it to the stock pillar, filled the edges with bondo and painted it "charcoal" to match my interior.

Thanks guys! I bought the autometer 2 pod from summit racing. As you mentioned, autometer doesn't have the full a-pillar replacement for my 95 and I couldn't find anyone else making one.
I'm looking at your interior now - really nice! Must be a little tough making those first cuts into the dash for the instruments.
I appreciate the tip on installation. The new fusion paints work incredibly well on plastics now. I wasn't thinking about filler material but maybe it will be good enough for me without it. I'll see soon but dread going to the summit store as they're having a car show this weekend and parking is advertised as first come - get lucky.
I know the autometer gauges have no problems but I'm looking at the stewart warner ones as well. Digital with analog dials. Black face with red pointer and white silkscreen scale. Kit is half the autometer price too....

Silly question here Fred but that yellow stripe at the top of your steering wheel - I'm trying to think of what must happen to need a point of reference like that. ???

And that did cross my mind when I asked the question. I don't know enough about that kind of power and traction to guess what goes on when the horizon disappears at full launch power. I would think the first time includes a change of shorts in the aftermath.
Was watching an old, full size Oldsmobile come way up a few weeks ago. It must have taken the driver by surprise because he shut down immediately and broke something 50 feet out. Quite sad to watch the damage after such a dramatic hole shot. It was worth the price of admission just to watch that.
You don't happen to have any videos online for us do you?
