I would not feel confident that the original (or 2nd or 3rd...) owner would not have lied to me before buying his/her car. Also I would not have been sure how the car was used or where it was kept. How much do you trust the line: "...little old lady who drove it only to church on Sundays" ?

Re: Original 4th gen buyers only. What has been done to get to the mileage

When I first read this thread, I couldn't think of hardly anything I had changed in 147,000 miles of abuse as a daily driver that was outside all of it's life. But then the posts started to remind me of a couple of things.

Water pump at 60,000. Water pump at 80,000. Water pump at 125,000. Low coolant sensor. Headliner. Belt tensioner. Thermostat (+2 since the parts store gave me the incorrect temp). Usual brake pads and one set of rotors. Optispark, plugs, timing chain set at 125,000. It didn't need the timing chain. I just figured while I was there.... Both taillight assemblies. The originals started to come apart. 1 daytime running light socket. 1 taillight socket. Seats around 130,000. The original white leather/houndstooth seats were looking pretty sad. Floor mats at 100,000. 1 trunk support strut. Lots of tires. A couple of batteries. Put on a set of Bilsteins at 100,000. Heater core at 80,000. Way too many and too expensive headlights. Usually the left side for some strange reason.

Like I said, not hardly anything.

I have a pretty damn good idea, seeing as all of the previous owners were **** about it. Receipts and maintenance records.

You said don't mention things like lights, oil, and tires which I have records for as well. Coolant flushes, plugs/wires, cleaning the throttle body, you name it.

The question is do you list things like brakes when they were upgraded before needing replaced?

2002 Z28 Hurst, SS wheels; car turns 13 in two days, 89,2XX miles.

Repairs: power window motor, pinion ring, rear main seal, headliner.

Age: Driver t-top rattles a bit now; rattles in rear over rough pavement.

Otherwise a joy, still seems new, still gets 28-29mpg on interstate trips @ 70 mph. Stays in garage at home, in parking building at work, so paint is in great shape. I can't imagine selling this car.
