Ok, so on my way back from the track my car started this ugly little stumble and my tach stopped working for most of the way home, then started working again a little before I actually pulled in my drive. When i would try to rev it it would bog off and pop, so I turned it off looked under the hood for something out of place, and tried to crank it again, and nothing, just cranking. So i pulled the wire from the coil off the opti and I have lots of spark there, so does that mean that the ECU is still getting signal form the opti? Engine is still hot so Im not anxious to reach in an pull a wire from a plug just yet and check the spark again. Ignition module is new and opti only has about 3300 miles on it. What else can I check? I can hear the fuel pump coming on when I turn the key...???

oh ya, its a 96 TA.

 

What kind of mods do you have? How many miles on the clock? Do you have aftermarket ignition? How old are the plugs and plug wires? Definitely sounds like ignition something ignition related and I'm not sure if I'd point to the opti yet.

 

Mods: Borla Catback, Cold air, thats it. plugs have about 400 miles on them, wires about the same.137k on the clock. Im goin to check for spark at the plugs in a moment, will update in a few... Any other ideas? anybody?
