Re: oil temp gauge

I think those gauges use a sender that is inline with your oil pressure sending unit, you might have to ask Auto Meter about that one.

Re: oil temp gauge

Not sure what the oil drain plug looks like on an 02 Z28, but on my LT1, I use an electronic oil temperature gauge, with the sending unit drilled and tapped into the oil drain plug. There is a connector in the wire, so the wire can be disconnected to remove the plug to drain the oil.

A mechanical temp gauge is generally difficult to install, since the gauge is permanently attached to a long capillary tube with a bulb that needs to be threaded through the firewall. Easier to run a wire.

Re: oil temp gauge

thanks guys. I'm going to check with Auto Meter. I have a magnetic oil plug but I might be able to get a different one and drill it out and tap it.
