Oil sending Unit

I have a little problem. My car has 11k miles on it and about a week ago when starting up I noticed my oil pressure guage was pegged at 90lbs. When the car warms up it goes back to around 60ish. Ive never really paid much attention to it but that seamed high. I changed my oil and put in a new short can K&N filter my usuall 5W-30 Mobil1. Nothing changed??? Any suggestions besides having Chevy check the sending unit. I never bring my car to the dealer for anything if I can help it. Thanks in advance for any advise you guys might offer.
