I noticed today after doing an oil change that my oil pressure guage stays at the idle reading after shutting the engine off. Is this normal or do i have a problem? Should it go to zero after shutoff? Now, if I turn the ignition to on the needle will fall to zero and then rise to the normal reading after startup.If I just turn the ignition switch to on, the guage falls to zero and after I turn the switch to off the needle rises up to about the first line on the scale where it remains.While driving the readings are at the normal levels.I have not really payed attention in the past to the guage reading after shutoff.This may have been occurring all along, I do not know.
Has anyone else noticed this? Please let me know.
