1eez28,

Here's the oil pan removal procedure that I followed:

1) Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air intake duct.

2) Raise the vehicle and support it safely with jackstands.

3) Drain the engine oil into a suitable container.

4) Detach the oil level sensor connector, then remove the sensor.

5) emove the catalytic converter.

6) Remove the exhaust pipe hanger bolt/screw and reposition the pipe.

7) If equipped with an automatic transmission, detach the cooler lines from the clip at the oil pan.

8) Remove the starter motor.

9) If equipped with an automatic transmission, unfasten the converter cover bolts/screws, then remove the cover.

10) Remove the engine mount through bolts/screws.

11) Use a suitable jacking fixture to raise the engine enough to provide sufficient clearance for oil pan removal.

12) If the front crankshaft throw prohibits removal of the pan, turn the crankshaft to position the throw horizontally.

13) Unfasten the oil pan bolts/screws, studs and nuts. If necessary, rotate the crankshaft to reposition the counterweights.

Re: Oil pan

Trust me it's not easy. We used a nylon strap, lifted engine
with a cherry picker.
