144 is the fastest I could get with 2.73 gears.

thats only about 5k in 3rd gear... you should at least be able to redline in 3rd... i know i have 2.73's and i was past 150

I dunno about the 2.73 part, but I got my car alittle past the 150 mark in my '96 M6. I was in 5th gear with alot left, I had to shut off cuz a truck was passing another truck as I was coming up. Its amazing how fast these cars pull up top, it didn't take long at all to get there.

i got 3.42 with an auto, and i have no problem getting up to 150mph

Yeah I probably could if I had enough space. It look a ridiculously long time just to get to there though.

I'm puttin in some 3.42s in a few weeks, should be way better after that.

Unfortunately, speedos are not always the most accurate at reading speeds correctly. So just because you go past 150 on the speedo, doesn't mean you really did.

IIRC, the rags showed around 155-156 at the topspeed (well except for those with crappy tires from the factory)
