occasional no crank condition?

Once in awhile, my T/A won't kick over. I'm thinking maybe it's VATS. Seems like if I turn the ignition to off, and then back on...it'll kick right over, but never had a car do this before. Any clues?

Loose battery cables can cause intermittent starting problems and so can bad battery cables.

See if the security light is staying on the next time it does not start. That will tell you if it is VATS related.

Yes....the security light is on when I am trying to crank ....probably a bad key? Anyone have any luck replacing the "sensor" with a resistor? I have heard that that is all it is
